IFSHA Executive Director - As the Executive Director of IFSHA, Nancy Nathanson would like to share the following information about her background and commitment to her position: I have a life-long passion for horses. It used to be any horse, and basically still is. But my soft spot is for the Friesian and Andalusian. Before beginning full time work in the horse businesses, I was a successful Long Term Health Care Administrator. This experience gave me a really sound medical background and was helpful in the transition to working with and around horses. I have more than 25 years experience working full time with training and breeding farms. For the last 20 years, until this past November, I have been a partner with Bruce Howard at "The Park", a full service training facility. It was through my partnership with Bruce that I was introduced to the Andalusian and Friesian horse. I have always been involved with the "detail behind the scenes". Back in the late 1980s, I was asked to be a Secretary for a Carriage Driving Show, and that began my second career. Over time, I have done Secretary work for Driving, Multi-Breed, Friesian, Paso Fino, and Andalusian shows. I have been a member of the USEF Andalusian/Lusitano Committee since 2000, and have served as this committee's Chair since 2005. I am also a member of the USEF Secretary Committee. As Executive Director of the International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA), I serve the USEF Friesian Committee in an advisory capacity. I am proud to say that the USEF has voted me one of the TOP TEN SECRETARIES for both 2007 and 2008. I am delighted to serve the Friesian world as IFSHA's Executive Director and will do my very best to serve well. Please feel free to contact me with any questions of concerns you may have.
